FIELD: nuclear power.
SUBSTANCE: medium to be tested in sent to one of N measuring chambers, volumes of which chambers are inversely proportional to N average levels of activity. Spectrometric measurement of activity of radionuclide is carried out, duration of which activity is either set up or is inversely proportional to level of activity of radioactive nuclides. Data is selected on instant value of intensity of ionizing radiation of tested medium from spectrometric data. Selected information is subject to comparison with N top and N lower levels, which levels have to be borders of optimal statistic conditions of spectrometric measurements. Medium under test is directed to measuring chamber, volume of which chamber provides optimal statistical conditions of spectrometric measurements. Characteristic feature of the method is that, that tested medium before any measurement is subject to degassing and detector is protected from parasitic radiation. Before degassing unit is filled out with tested medium, calibration measurement of activity of known isotope is performed. Tested medium is sustained in degassing unit before sending it to measuring working chamber till short-living isotopes begin to decay. Working chamber is selected on he base of results of measurements of intensity of radiation of tested medium. After tested medium is removed from working measuring chamber, degassing unit is washed out, as well as measuring chambers and feeding pipelines are also subject to washing out.
EFFECT: small amount of liquid radioactive waste; improved precision of measurement.
