FIELD: medicine, ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with correcting refraction abnormalities with the help of laser. It is necessary to form a corneal flap and turn it away laterally, affect corneal stroma with the ray of eximer UV-laser at wave length being 223 nm. Moreover, one should apply such radiation parameters as: energy density in impulse ranged 120-200 mJ/sq. cm, frequency of impulses sequence being about 20-50 Hz, Impulse duration ranged 15-30 nsec, total quantity of impulses ranged 60-400. The diameter of impact area corresponds to about 4.5-5.5 mm. On finishing the ablation it is necessary to fulfill flap's reposition into corneal channel. The set of above-mentioned parameters enables to increase accuracy and decrease duration of the procedure on formation of corneal profile due to decreased number of impulses and increased frequency of their sequence. The innovation provides the chance for working upon a damp cornea, decreases the risk for corneal surface opacity as a result of its thermal heating at ablation.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of correction.
