FIELD: processes and equipment for electric arc welding by means of stationary consumable electrode.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of forming electrically conducting plate core whose shape corresponds to that of welded parts butt; during two stages forming electrically insulating coating on two opposite surfaces of core arranged at welding process in front of respective welded surfaces of parts. At first stage with use of masks with through openings "islands" of ready electrically insulating coating are formed on each of said surfaces of core. At second stage electrically insulating coating is formed on "islands" free zones of core surfaces. At forming such coating compression load is applied to plates and coating is dried. Invention provides the same thickness of electrically insulating coating on all surface of core.
EFFECT: improved stability of electric arc welding process, stable quality parameters of welded seams.
