FIELD: technology for processing geophysical data, in particular, method for processing geophysical data meant for determining information related to azimuth anisotropy in geophysical data; receipt of information is also possible concerning internal earth structure, for example, about fractures inside the earth, or about falling angle of reflecting level.
SUBSTANCE: in accordance to method, azimuth of plane of mirror symmetry is determined inside the earth on basis of geographic data, which represent a set of geophysical data, collected for various source-receiver azimuths. Data are processed for determining attributes of geophysical data, depending on azimuth. One attribute of geophysical data dependent on azimuth is selected and value of source-receiver azimuth is determined, relatively to which selected attribute shows mirror symmetry, thus providing a location of mirror symmetry plane relatively to ground. Azimuth, at which selected attribute shows mirror symmetry, may be determined by generating a goal function and points out the difference between actual value of attribute at one azimuth and value, predicted for same attribute at same azimuth, during usage of sample estimate of azimuth of mirror symmetry plane and during determining of azimuth of mirror symmetry plane, wherein goal function is minimized.
EFFECT: increased precision of produced results.
