FIELD: electrical engineering; power generating units for vehicles.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method for power generation on board hypersonic flying vehicle includes
dragging of oncoming air stream, its actuating in MHD channel by cross magnetic field, and generation of heterogeneous gas-plasma stream carrying current layers. For raising efficiency plasma layer is initiated during knocking combustion of treated fuel mixture in pulsating mode including ionization of gas flow components. MHD generator designed for power generation has housing, air intake, MHD channel, electromagnetic system for producing magnetic field across air stream, device that functions to match load resistance with resistance of plasma layers and to accumulate current from them, gas producer for fuel mixture treatment, resonant detonation chamber whereto fuel is supplied through MHD channel inlet nozzle formed by external wall of gas producer and internal wall of resonant detonation chamber.
EFFECT: ability of using magnetohydrodynamic impact for braking flying vehicle; enhanced efficiency.
