FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of production of thermal energy by combustion of fuel in oxidizer and it can be used for obtaining silicon and other rare high melting point metals. In fuel cycle based on combustion of organic fuel, circulation of organic fuel and its oxidizer is organized, elemental fluorine being used as oxidizer. For this purpose inorganic fuel in form of silicon dioxide or rare metal oxide belonging to group of high melting point metals and forming, with fluorine, volatile compound is introduced into process, and mixture is combusted, using carbon tetrafluoride formed at combustion of organic fuel as oxidizer. Silicon or rare metal is reduced from combustion products, namely, silicon fluoride or rare metal fluoride, thus getting elemental fluorine, and from carbon dioxide, also using elemental fluorine or reduced silicon or metal, clean carbon is produced which is directed, like elemental fluorine, for initial operation of combustion of carbon. Proposed method makes it possible to get both thermal energy and clean semiconductor silicon.
EFFECT: prevention of harmful chemical and heat discharges into atmosphere, increased efficiency of combustion, reduced consumption of fuel.
