FIELD: machine engineering, possibly checking geometry at straightening bodies of transport vehicles.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of measuring three-dimension coordinates of points with use of beams of measuring members directed on controlled points of transport vehicle body; using three laser range finders as measuring members; setting three dimension coordinates of range finders; directing three beams to the same point of body; measuring length of beams for determining three-dimension coordinate of said point of body in predetermined coordinate system by solving system of equations; then directing three beams to next point of body for determining its three-dimension coordinate as those for first point; determining distance between two points according to received coordinates; comparing said distance with reference size.
EFFECT: improved accuracy of measuring due to reduced number of measured values.
