FIELD: technology for making metal sleeves used under conditions of high temperatures and aggressive environments, for example, in metallurgy for feeding oxygen into oxygen converter, in automobile engineering in systems for discharging exhaust gases of automobiles.
SUBSTANCE: flexible metal sleeve contains bellows mated with sleeve and metallic armor and barrel positioned coaxially on their external surface. Inside the armor on mated end of recess of corrugation of bellows cut ring is positioned. Mated rectilinear portion of corrugation of bellows is held between ring and end surface of sleeve. Ends of bellows and sleeve are connected by welded seam, made on side surface of sleeve and ring along the edge of clamped section of bellows. In particular case of realization of metal sleeve, width of cut ring is equal to width of recess of corrugation of bellows, and its thickness is equal to length of rectilinear portion of corrugation of bellows, while armor, barrel and sleeve are connected by single welded seam.
EFFECT: production of quality welded seam of bellows to flange due to prevented burn-through defects while simultaneously decreasing requirements to qualification of welder.
