FIELD: measuring technique.
SUBSTANCE: discrete level gauge has vertical non-magnetic tube, inside which tube the resistors and reeds are mounted. Resistors and reed are connected in series to form circuit, which has both ends connected with current source through communication line. Level gauge also has magnet tightly connected with float made for movement along tube and provision of area of interaction with reed for height. One output of reed is connected with point of connection of two resistors from serial circuit. Other output is connected with circuit, which has separating resistor, connected with bus, and common output circuit connected with indicator. Reeds being close in height, are connected with two different buses, each of which ones is connected output circuit thorough its own resistor. Meanings of resistances of separating resistors are equal. End resistors of sequence circuit, through which resistors the top and low reeds are connected with current source, have resistances being minimal ones in circuit. Moreover, the following requirements are met: 1<M<2l, l=2Δ, M=3Δ, where l is interval of putting reeds by height; M is length of area of interaction of float with reed; Δ is pitch of discretization. Magnets in float are mounted at n levels, where n >=1, where n is integer.
EFFECT: reduced sizes; easiness at use; improved reliability of operation; improved precision of measurement.
