FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to indicate liquid level in closed containers. Method for determining level in tank, characterized in that magnetic roller level indicator is mounted outside remote camera, after which during filling of tank due to hydrostatic pressure, liquid level rises, which acts on float and moves it along magnetic level indicator. In this case, magnetic field of ring magnet of float acts on magnets located inside magnetic elements of indicator. Rotational moment from magnetic field of float when float moves upwards expands magnetic elements of cylindrical or planar shape with two contrastingly colored halves, on 180° one side to protective glass. When tank is emptied, float passes in opposite direction along inverted elements, acts on magnets located in them by magnetic field and rotates them back to 180° reverse half, painted in different color, to glass, thus, height of monochromatic halves of magnetic elements corresponds to level of liquid in reservoir.

EFFECT: technical result is to increase reliability of magnetic level indicator and enable indicator to be mounted on measuring tubes of different diameters.
