FIELD: information displaying equipment.

SUBSTANCE: method for controlling luminescence brightness of elements of matrix light diode screen includes generation for each elements of matrix light diode screen of N-bit impulse control signal appropriate for it in each frame of image being reproduced, aforementioned signal including T of high and l=(N-m)<2m low bits, values of which are appropriate for required number - Γ of luminescence brightness levels of matrix light diode screen and determined from formula Γ=2l·(2m-1), while in accordance to m-bit code of high bits of N-bit impulse control signal, appropriate amount T≤2m-1 of current impulses with duration Δt of constant amplitude and succession frequency is let through element of matrix light diode screen appropriate for given N-bit signal. In accordance to number and combination of active values of low bits of same N-bit impulse control signal, additionally let through same element of matrix light diode screen are, equal to number of active values of its l low bits, impulses of current of same amplitude and succession frequency are let through, but with duration Δt=Δt·2-i, dependent on order number i=1,2,...,l of low bits, having active value, while impulses of current with duration less than Δt are generated in same order of current impulses with duration Δt by limiting time of flow of these current impulses through appropriate element of matrix light diode screen.

EFFECT: it is possible to produce a number of luminescence brightness levels of elements of matrix light diode screen, which by at least two orders exceeds number of used current impulses.
