GAGE GAP TUNING METHOD BY THICKNESS VALUE OF PROFILED BLANK AND APPARATUS FOR PERFORMING THE METHOD Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC B21D5/06 

FIELD: plastic working of metals, namely manufacture of shapes of hard-to-form sheet materials.

SUBSTANCE: method and apparatus are designed for controlling gage gap by thickness of blank profiled in rotary roller-type tool mounted by cantilever fashion in condition of restricted bending with use of electromagnetic coils. Gage gap is controlled at finally shaping and calibrating by means of designed electromagnetic flux value. Gap is kept automatically in plane containing profiling axis. Said designed electromagnetic flux value is different at processes of finally shaping and calibrating. Apparatus for performing the method includes electromagnetic coils connected with DC source while magnetic circuits of said coils are turned to rollers by similar poles with possibility of creating magnetic flux permeating roller pair in direction normal relative to profiling axis. Apparatus provides automatic positioning of roller pairs according to thickness of profiled blank.

EFFECT: enlarged manufacturing possibilities, improved quality of articles.
