FIELD: metallurgy, possibly manufacture of porous articles.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of melting material; adding to mold gas generating matter; pouring melt into mold. Organic matter is used as gas generating material; it is added into mold before beginning of melt skin formation. Melt is poured into mold in state of overheating by 50 - 150 degrees. Rosin, disintegrated paper or vegetable residue, black soil or silt is added into mold as organic matter.
EFFECT: simplified process and lowered labor consumption for making porous castings.
