METHOD FOR PRODUCING OF BENT ARTICLES FROM WOOD Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC B27H1/00 B27M3/00 B27K3/00 

FIELD: wood processing and preservation, in particular, manufacture of bent articles for household and industrial purposes.

SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing timber for bending process; performing hydraulic thermal processing of profile light ends of members adapted to be bent; forming bent members; providing mechanical and cosmetic processing of bent articles. Hydraulic thermal processing of members for bent articles is carried out using aqueous solution of alkaline metal carbonate with concentration of said solution making 8-15% and temperature within a range of from 20 C to temperature below initial point of boiling of reaction products, with initial moisture content of wood material making 8-15%. Time of holding in solution is defined depending on time within interval of 0.5-5 min increased per each millimeter of article thickness. Solution used for hydraulic thermal processing simultaneously serves as antiseptic. When necessary, local soaking with aqueous solution of alkaline metal carbonate and local heating of deformed potions of article are additionally provided.

EFFECT: increased efficiency in processing of blanks manufactured from any kind of broadleaved or coniferous trees by providing adequate and adjustable combination of parameters of solution used in the process, and improved quality of bent articles.
