SUBSTANCE: according to invention, cellular member is installed in exhaust gas system of internal combustion engine. It has passage channels for exhaust gases and axial line L. Such cellular member has at least first subset of channels and second subset of channels. Areas of cross section of channels of at least one of both subsets change in axial line L of cellular member, thus providing non-equal duration of passing of exhaust gases through channels belonging to different subsets. Special advantage connected with said difference in duration of passing of exhaust gases through channels belonging to different subsets consists in possibility of its use for weakening or damping sound waves of one or several lengths for noise damping in exhaust systems equipped with cellular members for neutralization of exhaust without necessity of mounting of additional design members in exhaust gas system.
EFFECT: improved noise damping.
