FIELD: mechanics.
SUBSTANCE: honeycomb element (1) is made of folded, rolled and/or packed metal plates (2, 3) and has many at least partially profiled layers (2) formed with them, the profile structure of which forms channels (4) passing from inlet end surface (5) of honeycomb element (1) to its outlet end surface (6). Some part of layers formed with metal plates (2, 3) has on its edges (7, 8) on inlet end surface (5) either on inlet end surface and outlet end surface (6) of honeycomb element the grooves (9, 10) giving the structure cut or speckled with irregularities to inlet end surface (5), outlet end surface (6) of honeycomb element. More than 80% of channels (4) end at least on one end surface (5, 6) of honeycomb element in the zone at least of one groove (9, 10).
EFFECT: decreasing the probability of soot particles deposition on end surfaces of honeycomb element.
