FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to electrically heatable honeycomb bodies. Electrical connection of several sheet metal layers (1, 2, 3, 4) of a honeycomb body (14) to a connecting pin (12). Honeycomb body (18) has a metal shell (7) with an inner periphery (I), through which the connection pin (12) is led to a bushing (10) so as to be electrically insulated. Sheet metal layers (1, 2, 3, 4) are alternately arranged coarsely structured metal sheets (2) and finely structured or smooth metal sheets (1), which together form a stack (4) with an uppermost sheet metal layer (3) and a lowermost sheet metal layer (4), the stack having channels (9) through which a gas can flow in an axial direction (A) from the intake side (14) to the discharge side (15) between the sheet metal layers (1, 2, 3, 4). Invention is characterized in that the connection pin (12) runs approximately perpendicular to the sheet metal layers (1, 2, 3, 4) and thus in a radial direction (R), and is metallically connected to at least two sheet metal layers (1, 2, 3, 4) via at least one conductive intermediate piece (13), embracing several metal sheet layers (1, 3, 4) of the stack (5) in a connection region (6).
EFFECT: technical result: simple manufacture of a reliable and very uniform electrically heatable honeycomb body (14).
