FIELD: seismology.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises arranging a group of instruments for recording hydroacoustic signals at deep sea observation levels in the surf zone and offshore, connecting the instruments with external stations for receiving and processing hydroacoustic signals, recording hydroacoustic signal with extracting PP, S, and T phases. The offshore recording instruments analyze the low-frequency component of dispersion signal using the ship noise as reference quasi-harmonic high-frequency signals. The near-shore recording instruments determine the moment of onset and direction of coming seismic waves by means of a narrow-band filtering and spectral analyzing of the wave at combination frequencies.
