FIELD: high voltage equipment engineering, namely, engineering of devices for protecting electric networks and equipment from voltage surges, possible use primarily in voltage surge limiters of non linear, containing a column of serially connected non-linear resistors (voltage-controlled resistors) with high nonlinearity coefficient.
SUBSTANCE: device contains, enabled between object being protected and ground, connected serially, nonlinear resistors, and also spark gaps, aforementioned nonlinear resistors are combined in odd number of modules, to each serially connected three modules two spark gaps are connected, while in each three modules first spark gap is connected in parallel to serially connected upper and middle modules, while second spark gap is connected in parallel to serially connected middle and lower modules.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of nonlinear resistors included in composition of device while providing in flow mode of greater impulse current of decrease of remaining voltage and increased current capacity.
