FIELD: chemical technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the improved method for synthesis and isolation of salicylic acid by electrolysis of salicylate sodium in a three-chamber electrolyzer. Method involves additional addition of sodium sulfite solution into a middle chamber and process is carried out at current density 0.1-0.3 A/cm2 wherein steel-3 is used as a cathode material. Invention can be used in synthesis of dyes, preserving foodstuffs, qualitative analysis of chemical substances in analytical chemistry, in pharmaceutical, medicinal, textile and food industry with the enhanced effectiveness. Invention provides enhancing output of the process and using steel-3 instead high-expensive platinum electrode.
