FIELD: electrochemistry, analytical chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention describes a method of synthesis of salicylic acid involving heating sodium phenolate under pressure 0.5-0.7 MPa and at 120-190 C followed by treatment with sulfuric acid and characterized in that sodium salicylate is subjected for electrolysis in three-chamber electrolyzer fitted with two cationite membranes. Process is carried at current density 0.05 A/cm2, current power 0.08 A and voltage 12 V. Invention can be used in synthesis of dyes, for foodstuffs and wines preserving, in qualitative analysis, analytical chemistry, in medicinal, pharmaceutical, textile industries. EFFECT: increased purity of the end product, increased economy of process.
