METHOD TO RECOVER WATER-TIGHTNESS OF WATERPROOFING BUILDING STRUCTURE COVERINGS Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC E04D5/02 

FIELD: building, particularly to repair waterproofing coverings and roofs including organic binding agent.

SUBSTANCE: method involves determining wear factor of the covering; heating the covering up to binding agent softening; removing binding agent layer through depth of h=0.1-0.6H, where h is depth of organic binging agent stripping, mm; H is total organic binding agent layer thickness, mm; applying bitumen-based waterproofing composition on remainder organic binding agent in amount of B_H=(1-α)·B_i/K, where B_H is amount of bitumen-based waterproofing composition to be applied on the covering, kg/m²; α=0.1-0.6 - coefficient, which takes into consideration removed binding covering; B_i - initial amount of binding agent in covering, kg/m²; K=0.6-0.95 - wear factor of the covering. Then bitumen-based waterproofing composition is heated along with remainder binding agent up to at least 120°C, held at above temperature, stirred and compacted.

EFFECT: increased service life of repaired waterproofing covering.
