FIELD: pipeline engineering.
SUBSTANCE: heat-insulating pipe comprises at east one internal pipe for supplying fluid, heat-insulating layer made of foamed plastic applied on the internal pipe, shell that embraces the heat-insulating layer and made of steel, plastic film mounted on the metallic shell, and outer coating made of plastic. The plastic film is made of a thermally deformed plastic and is provided with a screw cord on its surface to define a projection between the turns of the cord with the use of foamed plastic. The outer coating fills the section between the projections so that the outer surface of the outer coating is wavy-like. The method comprises forming the shell around the internal pipe, applying the plastic film on the shell, and gluing the longitudinal buts of the plastic film. The space between the internal and outer pipes and plastic is filled with a foamed plastic composition, and the cord is wound on the plastic film.
EFFECT: enhanced flexibility of pipes.
