FIELD: railway transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for braking locomotives or other rail vehicles by shoe brake. Proposed brake has friction pair consisting of wheel with longitudinal flange and connected with holder by means of cotter. Brake shoe has back, clamp and body with flange part in which longitudinal grove is made alternating with profile and free sections in form of through ports in width of longitudinal groove. Uniform initial clearance is provided over perimeter of wheel flange in zone of profile sections, and variable side clearance is provided between mating surfaces of inclined part of flange and longitudinal groove. Brake shoe is provided with additional grips along edge and end faces of back, and clamp is furnished with guides for cotter. Value of overlap of brake shoe back is defined by angle α between vertical axis passing through center of circumference and straight line connecting center of said circumference with edge of shoe back. Angle α lies within 60°≤α≤90°.
EFFECT: improved reliability of brake, provision of safe running, reduced labor input when mounting brake shoes on locomotive.
