FIELD: medical equipment; making prosthetic appliances of lower extremities.
SUBSTANCE: polycentric knee hinge has top support area for fastening sleeve of hip and lower bracket for fastening pipe of ankle; both parts are connected together by front and back units by means of four rotation cinematic pairs. Distance between axes of rotation cinematic pairs at top support surface is made bigger than distance between axes of rotation cinematic pairs at lower bracket. Ergonomic characteristics of prosthetic appliance can be improved due to approaching of pattern of walking to standard one to make manner of walking more natural and stable.
EFFECT: reduced number of compensatory motions; simplified design; reduced cost.
