FIELD: methods of accumulation of medical wastes of A,B, C and D classes.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method may be used for accumulation of epidemiologically dangerous wastes according to classification of Sanitary Regulations and Standards 2.1.7.728-99. During accumulation of wastes for storage and transportation to areas of destruction, wastes are divided into two main flows at different routes: infected wastes of class B : sharp instruments, organic wastes and remaining wastes and wastes of class C : sharp instruments, organic wastes and remaining wastes and non-infected including wastes of classes A and D : mercury-containing wastes, cytostatics and remaining wastes close to industrial wastes by their composition. Sharp instruments and organic wastes of classes B and C are accumulated in throw-away containers placed on trucks and throw-away packages which shall be sealed-up; remaining wastes and wastes of class D close to industrial ones by their composition are accumulated in throw-away packages which shall be sealed-up; packages are placed on trucks; wastes of class A are accumulated in throw-away packages which shall be sealed-up and placed on trucks in reusable containers for transportation to area of destruction or for storage. Wastes are burnt in incinerator plant or directly at area of formation. Cytostatics and mercury-containing wastes of class D are accumulated in special-purpose containers kept at interim storage areas. Transportation and destruction of such wastes are performed by authorized organizations.

EFFECT: isolation of wastes from surrounding medium; avoidance of expenses for disinfection.
