FIELD: protection of spacecraft against attack before entry into upper atmosphere layers.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in deploying the protective screen in front of spacecraft at minimum permissible distance from it in way of expected attack. Protective screen closes zone of reach of spacecraft by attack means; then, speed of flight of trajectory close to actual magnitudes is imparted to protective screen. In folded state, the protective screen is secured on spacecraft surface by its edges; before zone of reach of attack means acceleration is imparted to screen edges at components along and away from spacecraft motion trajectory, thus ensuring deployment of screen in form of spatially spaced attack elements. These elements are interconnected by means of flexible fasteners at distances lesser than geometric sizes of attack means.
EFFECT: extended field of application.
