FIELD: space engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method and device intended for protecting spacecrafts (SC) against collision with natural and artificial objects of various weight and degree of dispersity. Proposed method consists in directing a screen towards potentially dangerous objects found ahead of spacecraft, said screen representing a low-density solid body. The screen is gas-blown from polymer material with minor time of hardening outside spacecraft. Polymer material or its mix with aforesaid gas possess detonation property in colliding with dangerous objects. Overall dimensions and weight of described screen are selected to be sufficient to destruct objects under consideration and to deflect their fragments from spacecraft. If required, several screens can be directed towards the objects of necessary weight and sizes. Screens can be formed immediately after separation from spacecraft from foamed polymer material or aerogel by foaming fluid polymer material or lowing powder-like component by gas.
EFFECT: multiple and efficient SC protection.
