FIELD: astronautics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of protection of spacecraft (SC) structural elements against impact of colliding bodies (particles and fragments). Disclosed screen consists of two parts: an external shaped screen having a smooth helical surface and an elastic substrate made of one or more layers. At partially elastic collision with shaped screen some part of body energy is transmitted to screen (absorbed by elastic substrate), and body, having lost its initial speed, is thrown into outer space with change of trajectory of its movement. By selecting the profile of the shaped screen, the impact action on the spacecraft can be mitigated, and also to some extent order the separation of particles (fragments) after impacts.

EFFECT: technical result is multiple possibility to reduce or exclude destructive effect on spacecraft of colliding bodies, without human intervention.
