FIELD: wind-power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed rotary windmill electric generating plant has vertical support that mounts electric generator characterized in high output power that incorporates windwheel-carrying horizontal shaft. Windwheel blades are made in the form of Magnus cylinders provided with drives for setting them in rotary motion. Power plant is also equipped with additional windwheel; both windwheels are disposed on opposite ends of horizontal shaft which also mounts wind vane in its center that affords generator rotation in vertical support bearing. Magnus cylinder rotation drives are made in the form of electric motors and wind-measuring cups.
EFFECT: improved performance characteristics due to enhanced generator shaft torque.
