METHOD FOR EVALUATING FUNCTIONAL DUODENAL VALIDITY Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC A61B8/00

Abstract RU 2295292 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: it is necessary to carry out transabdominal ultrasound duodenal testing to evaluate the character of duodenal content due to histography. One should register predominant echo-intensity of gastric and duodenal content picture. It is important to evaluate the distribution of echo-signals of duodenal content according to histogram's data in its graphic interpretation. One should calculate echogenicity coefficient EC of duodenal content according to the value of the ratio of predominant echo-intensity of duodenal content against the value of predominant echo-intensity of gastric content. It is important to detect the area for the extent of duodenal content in case of an empty stomach. At value of predominant echo-intensity of duodenal content ranged 8-12 U, distribution of echo-signals of duodenal content as highly pronounced high sharp peak of graphic curve, EC value ≥ 1.3, no visualization of the content in inferior horizontal duodenal part in case of an empty stomach one should diagnose normal functional duodenal state. At value of predominant echo-intensity of duodenal content being below 8 U, distribution of echo-signals as two or more sharper peaks with a wide bottom of graphic curve being different by the value, at EC value of duodenal content < 1.3, visualization of the content in inferior horizontal duodenal part in case of an empty stomach one should diagnose duodenostasis. The innovation enables to increase information value and accuracy of predicting functional duodenal validity.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of diagnostics.
