FIELD: medicine, ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with ultrasound methods for predicting vascular pathology of optic nerve (ischemic opticopathies) and could be applied both the doctors of out-patient consultations and those at ophthalmological hospitals. It is necessary to conduct ultrasound dopplerographic study of carotid and orbital vessels, detect carotid-ophthalmic ratio of central retinal artery (COR CRA); additionally, it is important to detect carotid-ophthalmic ratio of ciliary artery (COR CA) calculated as the ratio of the index of circulatory resistance of internal carotid artery against the index of circulatory resistance in ciliary artery. At decreased COR CRA and COR CA against the values of these indices being equal to 0.89±0.05 and 0.87±0.05, correspondingly, one should diagnose the presence of vascular pathology of optic nerve. The innovation enables to conclude upon affected circulation of regional vascular link of optic nerve.
EFFECT: higher accuracy and efficiency of diagnostics.
