FIELD: cleaning the area of petroleum contaminants in case of emergency spillage of oil.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in confining the contaminated area by banking and supplying water under pressure to water-bearing underlayer at intensity sufficient for raising the ground water level in contaminated area to daylight surface together with oil and/or petroleum products to be washed-out, after which oil and petroleum products are removed from daylight surface. Water under pressure is delivered to the water-bearing underlayer by means of hydraulic screen made in form of ditch formed along banking which on the outer side relative to contaminated area is hydraulically communicated with water-bearing underlayer. Ditch is filled with water to the level exceeding the level of daylight surface of soil and level of liquid phase at this area to reverse the direction of motion of liquid phase in water-bearing underlayer. Ditch is divided longitudinally into sections by means of strips for forming difference in levels between adjacent ditch sections. Water under pressure is additionally supplied to the water-bearing underlayer by pumping it through well made in center of contaminated area from flat formed by embankment or raised section of ground.

EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of cleaning the ground contaminated with oil due to facilitated confining the contaminated area.
