FIELD: plastic working of metal, possibly rolled stock production.

SUBSTANCE: housing of universal rolling stand with inter-roll gap control includes pair of horizontal rolls and one or more vertical rolls with respective wedges, positioning bodies and guide for wedges. Said guide has coupling tie rods secured to said bodies at one side and acting upon wedges for positioning rolls and for regulating their position. Regulation is realized by means of hydraulic capsules with two hydraulic double-action chambers and by means of paired stem on ends of each coupling tie rod.

EFFECT: lowered number of standard manual operations, simplified design of frame due to its increased rigidity, enhanced working dynamic characteristics of stand.
