FIELD: mechanical engineering; other industries; methods of the hardware products surfaces hardening.
SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the field of the hardware products surfaces hardening and may be used at manufacture of the wide list of tools and details. The method provides for the diffusion saturation of the surface of the product with the alloying components by excitation of the electric arc between the treated surface and the electrode. Saturation of the surface is conducted with usage of the electrodes of the rectangular form, the number of which is determined depending on the dimension of the product. At the application of the coating use at least one electrode made out of graphite and at least one electrode containing the boron carbide, chromium-containing substance and corundum. During the saturation process the product is transferred concerning the electric arc with the speed sufficient for heating of the treated surface heat till achieving the temperature of quenching. The technical result of the invention is the increased productivity of the hardening process and expansion of the technological possibilities of the given method.
