FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and instrument making, particularly, to relaxation of residual stress in machine parts. Source of ultrasonic vibrations is bought in contact with machine part. Said part is continuously revolved about its axis. Said source is fed along part surface. Said source is pressed against the part with force that allows part deformation by magnitude equal to or exceeding ultrasonic vibration amplitude. Source feed rate is selected to make ultrasonic vibration power exceed that required for part residual stress relaxation.
EFFECT: higher efficiency.
