FIELD: transport engineering; rail vehicles.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to draft gears of automatic couplers. Proposed draft gear consists of housing in form of cylinder 2 closed from one side by bottom 3 and support plate movable relative to housing. Draft gear contains elastomer shock absorber 6 arranged partially inside housing 1 for shifting relative to housing. Said shock absorber engages by its bottom part with thrust plate 7, and its rod engages with contact surface of bottom, being essentially end face of projection made in bottom of housing. Moreover, draft gear has chamber in which insert made of hard elastomer is installed. Area of cross section of chamber 15 is greater than area of cross section of hole 4 of cylinder which accommodates elastomer shock absorber. Insert 16 is made of hard elastomer featuring higher wear resistance and is provided with stiffening member 20 placed inside. Axial hole 17 of insert widens in direction to housing bottom.
EFFECT: improved absorbing of extremely high loads and increased strength of draft gear.
