FIELD: petrochemical processes.
SUBSTANCE: bitumen modification process accomplished by introducing polymer additive into bitumen is characterized by that, before introduction of polymer additive, isocyanate component selected from 2,4-tolylenesiisocyanate and polydiisocyanate is added to bitumen to form active isocyanate groups therein and two-component mixture resulting therefrom is then aged, while polymer additive utilized is selected from functionalized polyesters and polyethers, in particular from polyethylene-butylene glycol adipate, polyoxypropylenediol, and polyoxypropylenetriol, which interact with active isocyanate groups present in bitumen to form polyurethane composition with bitumen/polyurethane ratio (95-67):(5-33).
EFFECT: improved physicochemical characteristics of bitumen-polyurethane composition.
