FIELD: electric engineering; methods of determination of the current capacity for the hearth blocks.

SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the electrical engineering and may be used at operation of the hearth blocks being a part of the electrical current conductive unit of the cathode of the aluminum electrolyzers. The technical result of the invention is the increased accuracy of determination of the current capacity at operation of the blocks in the aluminum electrolyzers, that ensures optimization of their current consumption at operation in the conditions corresponding to their properties, and accordingly the increased service life of the aluminum electrolyzers approximately by 15 %. The main point of the offered method consists, that for determination of the current capacity for the hearth blocks of the aluminum electrolyzers and being the part of the electrically conductive unit of the cathode of the electrolyzer they first measure the specific electric resistance and the ultimate bending strength. Then additionally measure the heat stability, the specific elongation in the cryolite-alumina smelt and the real density of the carbonic material structure. Then determine the level of the defectiveness of the carbonic material structure and the quality criterion according to the offered formulas. On the base of the quality criterion determine the operational current capacity.

EFFECT: the invention ensures the increased accuracy of determination of the current capacity at operation of the blocks in the aluminum electrolyzers, optimization of their current consumption at operation in the conditions corresponding to their properties, the increased service life of the aluminum electrolyzers approximately by fifteen percent.
