FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of graphitised materials, particularly, carbon blocks and may be used in electrometallurgy furnaces and their tooling, chemical production apparatuses, machine building, etc. Charge containing 15-25 wt % of thermoanthracite with particle size of 2-10 mm and coke filler making the rest, is prepared. Said charge is mixed with pitch binder. Produced mix is used to make a billet. The latter is annealed and thermally treated. Material with high abrasive resistance is produced to feature structure made up of graphitised matrix and not graphitised particles of thermoanthracite.

EFFECT: electric conductivity of high-power electrolysers and higher resistance to abrasion and sodium attack.
