FIELD: digital processing of images, namely, methods for automatically adjusting image parameters.

SUBSTANCE: in accordance to method in brightness bar graph of original image balance distribution level is determined, original bra graph is filled below balance level, on basis of which threshold value of modes separation is detected. Inter-mode brightness intervals are compressed, reducing interval of brightness, matching points of image. Bar graph at this brightness range is transformed across whole image brightness range.

EFFECT: automated process of increasing contrast of any grayscale image, including video image in real time.
