FIELD: rubber industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical modification of elastomers and can be used in production of synthetic elastomers for tires and mechanical rubber goods. Chlorine-containing elastomer according to invention is obtained by interaction of elastomer with chlorine-containing reagent in rubber compound mixer at 80-150°C for 10-30 min, said chlorine-containing reagent being chlorinated hydrocarbon of general formula CnH(2n+2)-x with n=10-30 and x=7-24 and taken in amount 5-25 wt parts, amount of elastomer being 75-95 wt parts. On 11-21 min of mixing of the two chemicals, 5-50 wt parts colloidal silica is added to rubber compound mixer. Advantage of such procedure consists in simplified technology and environmental safety of production as well as in that premature vulcanization of rubber compound is thereby avoided when rubber compound is processed to manufacture mechanical rubber goods.
EFFECT: enhanced process efficiency, improved environmental conditions, and reduced cost of production.
