METHOD FOR RAISING OF CADUS MORHUA KIND OF CODFISH IN COASTAL REGIONS OF WESTERN AND EASTERN MURMAN Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC A01K61/00

Abstract RU 2297138 C2

FIELD: fish industry, in particular, codfish marine culture.

SUBSTANCE: method involves catching wild young codfishes or wild loose empty codfishes of commercial size with the help of non-injuring catching means; sorting out catch; transporting planting material; removing perished and injured specimen; acclimating selected specimen and placing in commercial nursery ponds; feeding and growing codfish to commercial condition; slaughtering and realizing commercial product; catching wild young codfishes having weight of up to 1,000 g and/or wild loose empty codfishes of commercial size in coastal regions, with abiotic factors being taken into account; transporting prepared fish at settling density within reservoir depending upon delivery time and water temperature, provided that following conditions are followed: constant adjustable sea water flow rate enabling complete replenishment of water during 15 min, ratio of fish to water less than 2:1-1:1, ratio of young fish length values in one resident fish reservoir less than 1:1.5, hourly controlling of fish state and immediate removal of depressed and sleeping specimen; delivering fish transported to permanent habitat into sorting-out flow-through means-slot, and then delivering fish in separate batches to adaptation pond; sorting-out by quality, weight and size and placing homogeneous groups of fish for acclimation into adaptation ponds which should be arranged downstream of flow and at a distance of about 50 m from commercial nursery ponds. Minimal height of underwater part of netted web is 5 m and minimal distance between netted web and basin bottom is at least 2 heights of underwater part of pond netted web; stocking commercial nursery ponds with codfishes passed through acclimation period and growing fish to commercial condition at settling density of 10-30 kg/m3, with feed consumption and fish growing rate depending upon its weight and water temperature. Method allows fish yield to be increased by about two times.

EFFECT: increased yield of commercial product as compared to traditional fishery processes.
