FIELD: manufacture of elongated, mainly cylindrical products of construction high-strength steel used for making heavy-load parts operating in condition of twisting and bending due to action of dynamic load.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of melting steel containing, mass %: C, 0.15 - 045; Si, 0.2 - 1.0; Mn, 0.2 - 2.0; Cr, 0.1 - 2.0; Ni, 0.1 - 5.0; Mo, + 3 W, 0.01 - 0.9; Fe and impurities, the balance when next relation is satisfied: Ni + 1.2 Cr + 1.5 Mn≤ 9 - 0.6 C. Steel is cast to ingots or to continuously cast billets. The last are subjected to plastic working. Then billets are cooled till temperature 350 -450°C at cooling rate V satisfying to next relation: V ≥ 0.37 + 1.45/Ni. Products are characterized by improved plastic properties, especially impact viscosity at high strength.
EFFECT: stable mechanical properties of products at operation due to optimally selected components of steel, uniform structure of steel, improved plastic properties of products.
