FIELD: bridge erection, particularly piers for reinforced concrete (iron) bridges.
SUBSTANCE: fixed pier comprises upper cushion adapted to support span structure of reinforced concrete or iron bridge and lower cushion. Upper cushion has parabolic surface truncated with focal plane, which is perpendicular to plane of symmetry thereof, wherein parabolic surface passes into right annular semi-cylinder below the focal plane to transmit load to lower cushion. Upper part of lower cushion is truncated with concave surface shaped as right annular semi-cylinder. Radii of concave and convex cushion semi-cylinders are equal one to another.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of bridge beam vibration energy dissipation, increased load-bearing area and collapse area of the beam.
