FIELD: nondestructive testing.
SUBSTANCE: device comprises guiding wheels and at least one ultrasonic converter secured inside the tire on the shaft. The tire is made of an acoustically transparent material and is mounted with a spaced relation inside the shield that embraces the tire. The shield has an opening for permitting the tire to cooperate with the article to be tested. The axles of the wheels are secured to the shield, and the opening in the shield is interposed between the guiding wheels. The ultrasonic converter is mounted inside the space of the tire. The outer side of the ultrasonic converter is mating to the surface of the tire space. The ultrasonic converter is mounted for permitting rotation with respect to the shield opening. The shield is provided with guiding elongated opening through which the shaft passes. The tire is provided with outer spherical side and made of a flexible jelly-like organosilicon compound plasticized with organosilicon liquid.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability and expanded functional capabilities.
