FIELD: engineering interactive video display systems.
SUBSTANCE: in some configurations image may be projected around the user, so that actions of individual are displayed around him. Video camera and projector operate at different wave lengths, thus causing no mutual interference. Usage of such a device includes, but is not limited to, interactive lighting effects for people in clubs or in events, interactive display of advertisements, etc. Symbols and virtual objects created by computer may react to movements of passersby, may generate interactive surrounding lighting for common use premises, such as restaurants, foyers and parks, video game systems, and may create information systems and art installations. Patterned lighting and brightness and gradient may be used to improve ability to detect an object on background of video images.
EFFECT: simple and easily done interaction between an individual and computer display system, using movement and position of an individual (or other object) as input computer signal.
