FIELD: physics, computer engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to input devices for generating uniform electronic tags. The universal input device provides a general user interface with different computer platforms which include printed documents. Using this system, is possible to use the universal input device to control different computer devices, as well as capturing handwritten electronic tags and association of the electronic tags with new or stored documents. The universal input device can be identified through unique identification, providing many users with the possibility to work with a document and/or with one application program at the same time or in turns. The shifted optical system with infrared illumination processes the viewpoint and helps detect position coding, which when illuminated with visible light may be covered with existing ink.
EFFECT: accurate determination of the position of the input device relative the surface of an object on which the said pattern is drawn.
