Abstract RU 2298459 C1

FIELD: processes and tools for working metals by cutting, end and disc milling cutters.

SUBSTANCE: milling cutter includes body restricted at least by one end surface normal to rotation axis of milling cutter and by peripheral surface and having seats for cutting tips on end and peripheral surfaces. Each seat includes two lateral walls, supporting wall, wall opposite to supporting wall and crossing cuttings-removal groove. Double-side cutting tip is mounted in each seat and it is secured by means of fastening member acting upon mean portion of cutting tip between two sides of cutting tip. In order to enlarge manufacturing possibilities due to using cutting tips with cross section in the form of regular polygons or circle, fastening member is made in the form of clamp arranged at side of end surface of body and having nose for engaging with mean part of cutting tip restricted by lateral surfaces of two regular truncated pyramids mutually joined by small bases.
