FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and may be used in composite cutting tools. Mill comprises body with major cutting inserts fitted therein over front surface. Extra inserts are arrange at rear edge and confined by top and bottom hexagons with lengthwise and crosswise mirror axis and side surfaces located there between. Cutting edges of extra inserts are formed at intersection of said top and bottom surfaces with side surfaces. Extra seats for extra inserts are made in said body. Every said seat is confined by lower thrust wall interacting with extra insert top or bottom surfaces and two side bearing walls. One of the latter crosses major seat to make extra insert side bearing surface section interacting with said bearing wall contact with major insert lateral bearing surface. Major inserts side bearing surfaces are located closer to mirror axis than other side surfaces. In fitting extra insert, its lengthwise mirror axis is located parallel with major insert side bearing surface in contact with auxiliary insert.
EFFECT: reduced load at main replaceable inserts, higher efficiency.
